π Your Customers’ Data Is Safe With Essential Checkout Customizer
We take data protection seriously. Essential Checkout Customizer is built on native Shopify Functions, which means all checkout rules are evaluated directly on Shopify’s secure infrastructure. Customer data such as names, emails, addresses, and cart contents is processed by Shopify at checkout to apply your rules βΒ it is never transmitted to or stored on our servers. What we store are your rule configurations, not your customers’ personal data.
Essential Checkout Customizer “the App” provides payment and delivery method customizations and checkout validation rules, “the Service” to merchants who use Shopify to power their stores. This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used, and shared when you install or use the App in connection with your Shopify-supported store.
1. Personal Information the App Collects are the shop name and email.
When you install the App, we are automatically able to access certain types of information from your Shopify account:
- payment customizations β to hide, rename, and reorder payment methods based on your rules
- delivery customizations β to hide, rename, and sort delivery options based on your rules
- cart and checkout validations β to enforce order limits and validation rules at checkout
- products and collections β to let you select products and collections when building rule conditions
- markets β to let you apply rules per Shopify Market
2. How Your Customers’ Data Is Handled
Your checkout rules are executed by Shopify Functions inside Shopify’s own infrastructure. When a customer goes through checkout, Shopify evaluates the rules you configured against the checkout data (such as cart contents, customer details, and shipping address) and applies the result. This evaluation happens entirely within Shopify’s systems β the App does not receive, process, or store your customers’ personal information on our servers.
3. Built for Global Standards π
- β Works with privacy laws worldwide
- β Follows data minimization principles
- β No customer personal data storage or processing on our servers
- β Automatic compliance through Shopify’s secure infrastructure
